| Minor, woman among 3 die in road accidents | | 22 army personnel injured as truck skids off | | Srinagar Mar 25 At least three persons, including a woman and a minor, died and twenty-two army personnel were injured in separate road accidents across the Kashmir valley, since last 24 hours. Official sources said that an unidentified woman died on the spot when she was hit by an over-speedy TATA Sumo, 2095/JK01D, at Barsoo Awantipora, here today. The woman, said to be of fourty-five years old, died on the spot, while driver of the offending vehicle was taken into custody. A six year old boy was crushed to death by a mini-bus, 3446/JK01C, at Jamalatta, on the outskirts of Srinagar city, sources said. Police said that the victim, identified as Tabish Lateef Shalla (6 yrs) son of Muhammad Lateef of Sehyar Srinagar was hit by the vehicle from behind leading to his critical injuries. He was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police has registered a case in this regard and initiated investigations. Two trucks of PWD department, 2031/JK01F and 7032/JK01G, collided with each other near Barsoo Awantipora, resulting critical injuries to one driver Muzaffar Ahmad Khan, son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Batmaloo. The driver later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Case in this regard has been registered by Police. Reports reaching here revealed that an army truck skidded off the road near Lower Munda Qazigund, this afternoon. At least 22 Jawans traveling in the truck were injured in the mishap, sources said adding the injured soldiers were hospitalized at 92 Base Hospital Srinagar.
