Printers call on CM, enlist demands

A delegation of Jammu Printers Association Led by Mr Arun K Gupta met Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad and lamented that the Govt was not taking the printing industry seriously as most of the jobs were being got done by the govt from outside the State.
They demanded that electicity to printing units in the State should be provided at industrial rates and also sought site for a printing institute.
The printers also demanded that VAT be reduced on PS plates, printing blankets,envelopes and cards.
DIC and sales tax department should be directed to recognise printing as Industry, they sought.
Chief Minister listened the problems faced by the printers with patience and assuered yhem to meet again very soon to redress the problems
