KATHUA, Dec 24: One day Financial Literacy and Inclusion Campaign (FLIC) was organized Govt. Higher Secondary School at Hatli in Kathua district by National Bank For Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to sensitize and create awareness among school children about Financial Literacy and Inclusion campaign. Prominent present on the occasion were Aman Kalsotra, DDM, NABARD, Kathua, V K Padha, Director, SBI, R-SETI, Kathua, R K Kalsotra, Lead Bank Officer, Kathua, Randhir Singh, Branch Head, J&K Grameen Bank, Neelam Sudha, Principal, GHSS, Hatli, Krishan Chand Purohit, President, Panchayat Welfare Committee, Hatli, teachers and student of GHSS, Hatli. On the occasion DDM-NABARD informed the students about the initiatives undertaken by NABARD under financial inclusion. He spokes on various topics like Financial inclusion means, access at a reasonable cost of all households and enterprises to the range of financial services for which they are "bankable," including savings, credit, leasing and factoring, mortgages, insurance, pensions, payments and local and international transfers. He asked all the students to open no-frill accounts to their advantage. R K Kalsotra, LBO, Kathua and V K Padha, Director, SBI-RSETI interacted with the youth and explained the need to change the way we work in society. They impressed upon the students to come forward and organize themselves in SHG groups, learn skill development courses, which will go a long way in empowerment of society.
