| Charak lays foundation of 29 kms roads costing Rs.1268.89 lakh | | | Kathua, March 26 Minister for Roads and Buildings, Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak accompanied by Minister for Youth Services and Sports and MLA, Billawar laid foundation stone of 4 roads with total length of 29 Kms costing Rs. 1268.89 lakhs being constructed under NARARD in Billawar constituency the other day. Among others, Chief Engineer (R&B) Mr. M.M. Sharma, Super-intending Engineer, Mr. O.K. Chadgal, Executive Engineer, Mr. B.D. Khajuria, Tehsildar, Billawar, Mr. Puran, Executive Engineer, PMGSY, SDPO, Basohli accompanied the minister on the occasion. At first, Mr. Charak laid the foundation stone of 10 Kms road from Pongran to Badu, which will be constructed with the project cost of Rs. 511.43 lakhs. The road will take off from village Pongran situated on Dhar Udhampur road. The main village to be benefiting by the construction of this road is Badu and adjoining habitations with total population of 8000 souls. The project cost of the road is 511.43 lakhs out of which NABARD share is Rs. 409.14 lakhs and state share is 102.29 lakhs. The road will be completed in three year. At 2nd foundation stone of 8 Kms road from Tharakalyal to Barota via PID was laid. The project cost of the road is 292.70 lakhs and will benefit 10,000 soul of village Nallan, Tharakalyal, Doden, Pid and Barota. The minister laid foundation stone of another road from Dhar road to Rampur Rasool via Sitla Mata Ji temple including construction of 15.90 meters Span Steel Girder Bridge. The length of the road is 4 Kms and the project cost of the road is 195.29 lakh and will benefit 5000 souls of Rampur, Rasool, Garh, Malti and Chobu. The minister laid foundation stone of 7 Kms road from Kishanpur to Chat via Koti, which will be, constructed under an estimated cost of Rs. 269.47 lakhs. The road will benefit 20,000 souls of Bantara, Bounta, Lower-Koti and upper Koti. Speaking largely attended public meetings at Pohgran, Pid, Dhar road and Kishanpur, Mr. Charak said that by constructing these roads long pending demand of the people was going to be fulfilled. Mr. Charak said that three roads under PMGSY which include Kilther to Ammuwala, Sailna to Aglidhar and Dramni to Sunana with project cost of 376.87 lakhs will be constructed very soon. Mr. Charak re-iterated the resolve of the government headed by Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state particularly residing in far-flung and hilly areas. With the construction of these roads the socio-economic condition of the people of these area will automatically improve, the minister said. Mr. Charak said that the government is fully aware of the problems of the people and is trying to mitigate their grievances. Mr. Charak appreciated MLA, Billawar Dr. Mahohar Lal Sharma for his dedication. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Youth Services and Sports Mr. Babu Singh lauded Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak for laying the foundation stone of 4 roads in Billawar constituency. Mr. Singh said that under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Jammu and Kashmir state has progressed in every field and said that government is committed to bring transparency in working and is committed to root out corruption from the state. Speaking on the occasion, MLA, Billawar, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma thanked Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak and Mr. Babu Singh for visiting his constituency. He also appreciated the role of Mr. Charak in laying the foundation of four roads in the constituency. The MLA and local people projected various demands of the areas for which the minister assured them that their genuine demands would be fulfilled gradually. Later Mr. Charak alongwith MLA, Billawar paid obeisance at Mata Sukerala Devi Ji and also inspected on-going development works at the shrine. The minister issued on spot instruction to R&B Engineers to prepare the project for double lanning of road from Billawar to Sukerala Mata Ji as demanded by the locals and also issued instructions to take up Mudian road of 1.70 Kms length with estimated cost of Rs. 30 lakhs. He asked the engineers to work with dedication and honesty and try to complete these projects in time. |
