| NIRC organizes seminar on Bank Audit’ | | | Jammu March 26 Jammu and Kashmir branch of Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India organized a seminar on “Bank Audit” with Dr. Haseeb A Drabu, Chairman and Chief Executive of the J&K Bank in the chair. CA .R.K. Gupta Chairman of the J&K Branch of NIRC of ICAI expressed his gratitude to the chairman J&K Bank for pursuing the matter regarding the extension of Income tax holiday for the industrial units. He also thanked Drabu for having taken up the matter with the Central Government in the capacity of Economic Advisor to the Government of J&K for the issuance of clarification by the CABDT for non taxability of Excise Refunds. Acknowledging the professional contribution of Chartered Accountants, who are one of the contributors as technical guide for giving rise to the banking industry in the country and his bank in particular, Drabu said that Chartered Accountants can play a vital role in Banks whether in Revenue Audit or Concurrent audit or an Internal Audit or a Statutory Audit. CA Kamal Faruqui, a senior Chartered Accountant, member of the Board of Directors of Central Bank of India, dwelt at length on the intricacies of the topic and enlightened the assemblage on the various provisions and guidelines issued by RBI .He also discussed the provisions laid out in the Tax Audit reports.
