North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, organized Folk Singing Competition here today. On the basis of over all performance, Naveen Sharma got the first prize of Rs 10,000, Arun Nischal got the second prize of Rs. 3100 and Anu Pandita got the third prize, while Kuldeep Kumar and Shams-ul-Nissa were given the consolation prizes.
Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, Secretary Cultural Academy while distributing prizes among the awardees congratulated all the winners and also thanked the judges for their judgments. Appreciating the organizers of the competition, he said the young talent has got the platform by this competition.
In another cultural program at Bhathindi, Chanchal Sharma, Dharmesh Nargotra, K.S. Wazir, Bashir Mastana, Massrat Nazir, Syed Tariq, Anil Raina, Vijay Anand, Anil Koul and students from New Rainbow Public School presented dance.
Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma Minister for Health and Medical Education was the chief guest on this occasion.
