| Governor pays obeisance at Raghunath temple | | | JAMMU MARCH 27 Governor Lt. Gen (Retd) S K Sinha visited the historic Raghunath Temple here this morning and participated in Ramnavmi celebrations. General Sinha, along with Lady Governor, Mrs Premini Sinha joined the special Pujas with hundreds of devotees who kept thronging the temple since wee hours. After the mass Arti, they presented offerings in the sanctum sanctorum. He greeted the people on the auspicious occasion and prayed for peace and prosperity in the State. Earlier, the President Dharmarth Trust, Thakur Diwakar Singh and Secretary Ms Vijay Gandotra received him. The Governor and the First Lady were escorted by the priests to sanctum sanctorum amid chanting of Mantras. Dharmarth Trust had made elaborate arrangements for conducting Pooja, Hawans and religious discourses on Lord Rama’s life and the Ramayana at the temple Meanwhile, in a message, the Governor said the high ethics and lofty ideas of Lord Rama are relevant for all times to come particularly now when society is afflicted by hatred, greed, intolerance and dwindling moral values. He said Lord Rama, epitomized righteousness and the spirit of sacrifice, which will guide society till eternity.
