| Literacy awareness march organized | | | Doda March 27
Large number of students of the district took out an awareness march under the banner of SSA from the city Middle School, here today, which after passing through various bazaars, culminated at Chief Education Office.
The march was flagged off by the Chief Education Officer Doda D.C.Chib, who was also the chief guest on the occasion .The rally passed through various bazaars and students of about two hundred schools participated and raised slogans of education for all, control population and control pollution .The students carrying placards with slogans like ‘achieve cent per cent literacy’, ‘send your children to schools’ and ‘illiteracy is a curse’ marched through the bazaars to create awareness among the general public about the importance of education.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO threw light on the SSA activities and informed that this type of rallies are going on throughout the District to eradicate ignorance from the society and added that government is incurring huge expenditure on these activities .He also urged upon the local people to become the part of SSA activities and lit this area with the candle of education.
He also urged upon the people to admit their wards in Government Schools where free education, food, uniforms and scholarships are being provided to the needy, poor and other deserving children. He also appreciated the efforts of teachers for raising the standard of education in government schools and claimed that they are using the teaching Aids in the classes.
After the culmination of rally, re-freshmen were served to the participating children.
