| NC delegation calls on Azad, discuss Mendhar situation | | | Jammu March 27
A National Conference delegation led by Party’s Provincial President Jammu Ajay Sadhotra called on Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad here last evening and discussed the situation prevailing in Mendhar.
The delegation apprised the Chief Minister about the situation and stressed the need for maintaining communal harmony and ensuring that no innocent person belonging to any community is harassed for ulterior motives.
Sadhotra informed the Chief Minister that the NC MLA Mendhar Javed Raina played a key role as representative of a responsible political party in diffusing the situation and ensured that the communal amity is not disturbed.
Reiterating his party’s commitment to work for strengthening secular forces in the State, Sadhotra demanded that no harassment is meted out to any individual belonging to any community.
The delegation also raised several issues of Poonch district including expeditious construction of Parnai Hydro Electric Project in Surankote and shortage of essential commodities like Atta and Sugar in the districts of Poonch and Rajouri, a party hand out said.
The Chief Minister is reported to have assured the delegation of all possible measures to overcome these problems, the handout claimed..
