| Muslims, Sikhs join KPs during Ramnovmi celebration in Baramulla | | | Baramulla, Mar 27 Reminding them of the old days, local Muslims and Sikh today joined Kashmir Pundits during the Ramnovmi celebrations at the historical temple of Shelputri Mandhir here today. A special prayer Hawan was offered on the occasion with Sikhs and Muslims joining the congregation as a mark of solidarity with their Hindu brethrens. President Sanathan Darham Sabha Baramulla Hadinath Gunju, talking to News Agency of Kashmir said, “We organized special prayers for return of peace and traditional communal harmony while our Sikh and Muslim brethren joined us to share the festivity." Gurjeet singh of kanlibagh Baramulla said, "Communal harmony rooted in its composite culture of Kashmiryat has been the dominant factor in our society” adding “ we greatly regret that pundits left us but we still love them and want them to return to their home sand hearths." He added that they prayed for peace and tranquility of the state. Presenting an exceptional example of communal harmony and religious amity, the Baramulla Township situated on the banks of River Jhelum boasts of having shrine of Hazrat Syed Janbaz wali (R.A), Shelutri Mindir and Gurduwara Chatipadshahi located on its three sides.
