Nat rang Celebrate Theatre Day

Theater has the power to give a new shape to the world ; Mr. Balwant Thakur, the director of Natrang on the occasion of World theatre day, expressed this. To mark this occasion Natrang organized series of programmes including a seminar, performance by children and a play ‘Girgit’ directed by Neeraj Kant.
He further said that Theatre today has emerged as one of he most effective medium of education and has the wonderful capacity in shaping minds. The intellectual world considers theatre as Great discoveries of Humanity like fire an the wheel. Developing nations always kept theatre as their priority and theatre also reciprocated in the intellectual development of those countries. He further said that this is the high time that we should leave the ace for materials and own theatre as a catalyst of our society. Jammu city has grown over the years but space for arts in our lives is still required to be created. Natrang as an Institution despite all odds has tried to maintain the consistency of good work and its missionary Zeal of revolutionizing the city of temples through its outstanding plays.
After this brain storming session on the performance of the play ‘Girgit’ based on the story be Chekhow ws organised under the direction of Neeraj Kant. The play revolves around the story of a dog who bites a thief. The thief pproaches the police for the compensation from the owner of the Dog. The whole locality is fallen by the Police to identify the Dog’s owner. Suddenly some one identifies the dog as Minister’s pet. On hearing this, thief gets a thrash for disturbing a respectable dog. The artists o fNatrang who participated in the ply include Gaurav Jamwal as Bada Officer, Mohit Sharma as Mota Officer, Rohit Verma as Chota Officer, Sahil Aroraas Narator, Rahul Singhas Jebkatra and others include Anush Lakhnotra, salil Mahajan, Mayank Bakshi and Pankush Verma. Saurav Kapoor played the music of the play, where as Kamaljeet Kour looked after the stage management.
