| People in large number pay homage to Singh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | MAR 27 A large number of people from Bishnah, Jammu and outside the state attended prayers and Antim Ardas in memory of Dr Dalip Singh and paid homage to departed soul. Born on 6th August 1915 at Mirpur, Dr. Dalip Singh got his medical education at Medical College Amritsar. He also qualified in the Unani System of Medicine and started his private practice at Bishnah in 1944 and treated about 10 lakh patients with a universal love for humanity personified. A symbol of simplicity and renunciation, he was the hope of cure of his patients not only by medicine alone but his spiritual blessings as well. Patients at his clinic were treated at a very low cost, ranging from Rs. 10 to 15 including cost of medicines and consultancy. He was nephew of mahatma Budh Singh and was deeply devoted to him. As such he remained the president of Mahatma Budh Singh Foundation and inspired publication of the literature of Mahatma. Prominent among those, who spoke on the occasion included MLA Ashwani Kumar, S. Sant Singh Tegh, S. Tarlok Singh chairman College of Education Bishnah, Professor Sukhdev Singh and Dr. Kulwant Singh.
