| Sports Council employees demand departmental status | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER

The J&K State Sports Council Employees have appealed to the Chief Minister (President J&K Sports Council) to accord departmental status to the Sports Council and abolish the existing membership cadre.
The employees are unhappy over the present game plan of sports council members who are creating hurdles in working of the organization. The association alleged that due to the negative attitude of some vested members, the sports council is presently paralyzed and employees of sports council are without salaries.
The employees of sports Council also criticized the working of J&K Olympic Association which has not given due representation to international players and other sports bodies. The general Secretary of J&K Olympic Association has swindled the council funds and dues of sports person.
The employees of sports council requested the President, Sports Council to abolish reconstitution culture of Sports Council and provide departmental status to J&K sports council for better promotion of sports and games in J&K state.
