Bhaderwah, Jan 12: A customer of J&K Bank branch, Bhaderwah alleged that an unidentified miscreant escaped with his mobile phone. He further alleged that the miscreant was not captured in the CCTV footage as the cameras in the branch are defunct for last couple of days. The incident has once again exposed the security loopholes in banks in the town. The incident occurred around 12.30pm yesterday at themain branch of the J&K Bank, located at the heart of the Bhaderwah town .The victim identified as Kumar Luv Gupta of Sarafan Mohalla, Bhaderwah said that he had gone to the bank to deposit some amount in afternoon. "When I went to the counter to deposit the money, I did not see anyone at the counter. Instead, I saw many unidentified persons moving around aimlessly. After, I filled up my deposit form and went to the counter and deposited the amount. After that looked back at counter and my mobile phone was not there," Kumar Luv a businessman said, who is running a hardware store at Jai road Bhaderwah . "When I contacted J&K Bank Manager, he replied that CCTV cameras are not functioning," he said. A source in the bank said that the hidden cameras stopped functioning barely some days after some technical problem in hard disc and we have already informed head office in this connection. |
