Jammu, Jan 12 : With potholes, stagnant water, pebbles losing bond with the cement and bitumen, a road in the Industrial Area Bari Brahamana maintained by the J&K SIDCO has become a matter of research as the same, pedestrian and commuters used to avoid due to its dilapidated condition.The road (Lane number 6) in Phase-II of the industrial area Bari Brahamana, as per sources, is maintained by the Department of SIDCO and for the last few years the road has not been blacktopped owing to which the life of locals, businessmen, traders, industries owner has become miserable. During the rains water gets accumulated in the entire stretch and residents of area, particularly school going students face hardship due to the casual approach of the J&K SIDCO but despite repeated reminders to the department nothing has been done to macadamize this stretch.An industrialist who wished anonymity over name said that J&K SIDCO is liable to macadamize the road out of some share generated annually through this department but for the past few years the money is being siphoned off by the officials for other purposes. |
