Jammu, Jan 12: Despite of the cap on the subsidized Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), the authorities fails to stop the commercial use of the Domestic cylinder in the city.
The subsidized LPG cylinder was fixed to six in September 2012 and later increased to nine per family and all extra connections has been cancelled in the state.
But the Black Marketers, while taking advantage of the policy of the government have started increased their rates, but unfortunately the domestic cylinder is being used for the commercial purposes. "Pay Rs.1300 per cylinder and get the Domestic LPG Cylinder from any agent of the distributers, all the Auto waalas, cycles waala can give kyou cylinder without any connection," said Sahil Manhotra, a shop keeper."
All the sweet shop owners, dhaba owners and other who uses LPS for commercial purposes are getting the LPG from these agents, and the genuine consumer of LPG have to wait for more than a week to get the cylinder.
After the curtailment in the limit of the LPG cylinder on September, 2012, more than 1,50,000 LPG connections of people enjoying double connection have been cancelled in Jammu.
Many of the people in Jammu who required more Cylinder due to big family are forced to get it at non-subsidized rates, but the agents are making good profit by selling the domestic cylinders for commercial purposes.An official of the CAPD said, "We don't have any Idea If someone is selling it in black, because I didn't get any complaint regarding this issue."
"It is very unfortunate if someone is selling the LPG in black, I would request to general masses to complain us, if someone is doing such kind of mischief," he added. |
