| 2- Day Workshop for NGO’s concludes | | Peerzada for creating awareness about WS among masses | | Jammu, March 28 Minister for Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed today called upon Non Governmental Organizations to extend their cooperation in creating awareness among people about the welfare schemes being implemented by the Government. Minister was speaking at the valedictory function of 2- day capacity building workshop for Non Governmental organization organized by Save the Children a UK based NGO working for development of children in Jammu and Kashmir. Minister for Power Mr. Rigzin Jora, Country Director Save the Children, Ms Jollie, besides the representatives of about 70 NGO’s from across the state were present on the occasion. Seeking cooperation of volunteer organizations in creating awareness among the masses about welfare schemes, Peerzada said that most of the time they fail to avail benefits due to ignorance. He said government has number of schemes for down trodden but they are not availing these for want of guidance. He said many a times a talented student give up studies due to financial constraints hardly knowing that he could avail the facility of scholarship. Appreciating NGOs working in various fields in the sate, he said there cooperation has facilitated enormous results in many programmes. He said “I think there involvement in Integrated Children Development Scheme projects is necessary for producing desirable results” adding “ only healthy and well fed children could guarantee for a better future of the country.” Minister for power Mr. Rigzin Jora called for roping in NGO’s in all welfare programmes, saying there are many instances where NGOs have brought excellent change for healthy work culture. He appreciated Save the Children organization for contributing in the development and education of the children in ten districts of the state. He assured the representatives of the NGOs of every help from the government.
