| Dilawar visits Bathandi, Narwal areas | | | Jammu, March 28 About one lakh population of southern Jammu comprising Channi, Sunjawa, Raika, Bathandi, Vidata Nagar and Sainik Colony areas would get required 41 lakh gallons of water per day by the end of next month after commissioning of Boria Filtration Plant in April. At present, the population is getting only a supply of 23 lakh gallons of water from existing 15 tube-wells, to which 18 lakh gallons of water per day would be added by the end of April. This was stated by the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood control, Mr. Mohammad Dilawar Mir during exclusive visit of the Bathandi and Narwal areas today. The Minister was accompanied by the Chief Engineer PHE, Jammu Mr. Vinod Goswani and concerned senior engineers. The Minister directed the engineers to complete lying of pipe-lines in the whole areas within a month so that un-interrupted drinking water supply is ensured immediately after commissioning of the Boria Filtration Plant. The Minister also directed for erecting Public Stand Posts (PSPs) at all important public places for convenience of the people. He ordered for cleansing of the service water reservoirs in the area immediately adding the bleaching powder should essentially be used for purifying the drinking water from dissolved impurities. The Minister also called for publishing the schedule and roaster for supplying drinking water to the people, which should be adhered strictly. |
