| Azad rushes to Delhi meets defense minister | | Cabinet meet postponed | | Jammu, Mar 29 The chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who rushed today to New Delhi to meet Congress high command has reiterated his stand of taking all political parties in confidence before taking a decision on withdrawal of troops from civilian areas. Sources close to power corridors told News Agency of Kashmir that Azad was asked to come over to Delhi by the party leadership last evening. As the chief minister left for Delhi, this morning, the cabinet meeting scheduled for today was postponed. Sources said that during his meeting with defense minister, Azad repeated his stand that withdrawal of troops could lead to fresh escalation in militancy adding that the time was not ripe for such a move as yet. Meanwhile, the today’s cabinet meeting was postponed as the chief minister did not turn back from Delhi as per the schedule. Sources in chief minister office had earlier said that, Azad would return back to the state by this evening and the meeting is likely to be held as per the schedule.
