Jammu March 29 Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rajouri, in collaboration with various local clubs and mahila mandals of the district organized a district level youth convention on Panchayati Raj and district level cultural program at Gujjar Hall Mal Mandi, Rajouri, in which overr 400 youth, both male and female, drawn from youth clubs/mahila mandals of Darhal, Thanamandi, Budhal, Kalakote, Sunderbani, Nowshera and Rajouri blocks participated. Talib Hussin, a resource person from Rural Development Department threw light no Panchayati Raj system in detail and called upon the youth to promote the Panchayati Raj system for the benefit of rural masses. He appealed the youth to come forward and elect sincere and dedicated persons to the Panchayats, as and when the elections to these bodies are held. On this occasion, President, Jamola Nehru Youth Club, M. N. Khan also delivered a lecture on Panchayati Raj system. Earlier, during the cultural program, various items like Pahari folk songs, Gojri and Dogri songs, local folk songs and Punjabi and Hindi songs were presented by the artists. Tazeem and party of Thanamarg Darhal won the first prize.
