| AVMJ, IAR stage protest against reservation legislations | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 24 : The workers of Arakshan Virodhi Manch Jammu (AVMJ) and India against reservation (IAR) from different parts of Jammu Province stage protest against such legislations which directly contradict the fundamental rights and principles of Indian constitution. According to press release, addressing the protesters Ram Pal Seth said that the amended legislation have given birth to inequality, injustice and discrimination. "These are undemocratic as some legislation ignored the needy and the deserving", he said, adding that all political parties were hand in glove with each other to please a such in of society advocating reservation for them ignoring the so called upper castes. He said that it was prejudiced trend based on misconceptions. There are ill-found facts about the prosperity of upper castes. Seth lashed out at the government for following an appeasement policy based on obsolete data about the actual state of Dalits in India. He demanded that government should take steps for the abolition of all kinds of reservation and work for the creation of a casteless and classless society. Sat Paul Sharma of I.A.R while addressing the gathering pointed out that the political leadership challenged the authority of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. Their actions were biased, irrelevant, adamant, proud and insincere. Sharma quoted Mr. B.R Ambedkar, who said that castes are antinational and create division between caste and caste. He demanded democratic reservation and its benefits be provided to the needy and the deserving irrespective of their caste, religion and region. |
