Jammu, Jan 24 : The Northern Railways of India, which virtually commence its journey from Jammu Tawi and Udhampur Railway station, is neglecting the cleanliness part of the trains these days. Every train which conclude its journey at Jammu Tawi or Udhampur railway station needs to go for washing and proper cleaning, where after the technical check the trains needs to be washed and all the compartments of the trains including its toilets get cleaned. But the authorities have forgot this practice as no train is being washed Neither at Udhampur nor at Jammu Tawi. If we see the condition of the train at the time of departure from Jammu Tawi, the toilets stinks like hell and you will find dust and stains on the seats of the train. Sushant Mehta, a businessman from Jammu said, "I am travelling in the trains for the last 15 years, but the conditions of the trains is like worst comes to worse. With the increasing fares, it should have been better, but it is being degraded." "The sleeper class is worst then the general compartment of the trains, even the AC First class is not cleaned, when you ask the attendant, he put the things on administration," he added. The passengers have also said that despite of regular complains given to the authorities, no action has been taken, most of the time the officials says that they have shortage of washing area space or man power. The officials of the railways while taking the matter lightly refused the allegations and said that they always whash the train, 'May be sometime due to the short of time the workers may have not cleaned it properly, but we always properly clean all the trains before leaving Jammu Tawi railway station,' said Railway official. The officials also informed that after the opening of Katra Track all the problems will be soughed out, as some of the trains will go upto Katra, and the pressure on Jammu Tawi Railway station will be less. |
