Jammu, Jan 24 : To press the state government to concede their long pending demands, Jammu and Kashmir POJK Refugee Front, 1947, 1965, 1971 today staged a protest rally outside Press Club Jammu. Addressing the protesters, Rachpal Singh Chib said that the state government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, didn't bother to act on the advice of department of Parliamentary Standing Committee, constituted to implement the Prime Minister's Package for all displaced persons of state. He further said that the impunity provided by the Article 370 has made the state government a monarchical state, which didn't bother to implement the verdicts of Supreme Court and National Human Rights Commission. The executive Committee of Front said that they would soon launch a nationwide strike for making amendment in Article 370, incorporated in the constitution of India. They further resolved that the refugees from POJK, Chamb, Bhimber, Mirpur, Kotli, Palandary, Manawar, Nah, Muzzafarabad and Poonch would hold protest dharnas at block, tehsil and district level in Jammu. They also requested all POJK refugees to stage dharna and protest rallies with black flags on Republic Day. |
