| ACCI seeks deferment of date to file e-returns | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 24 : Expressing concern over recent order of Commercial Tax department to e-filing of quarterly returns till January 31, Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has appealed department to defer the decision. According to press release, a meeting ACCI was held today under the chairmanship of its president Yash Paul Gupta to discuss the recent order of commercial taxes department about the e-filing of quarterly returns as advertised in newspaper. The member expressed their inability to do so since the last date happens to be January, 31, 2014. Even the tax bar association has expressed its inability to come up to the expectation of the department due to lack of infrastructure with the trading community, the members said. The member opined that option should be given to the traders to file the returns in the e-filling mode or otherwise they are of the opinion that the commercial tax department should defer this decision, because our state is not so advance to adopt this procedure immediately. The ACTF demanded that the decision be deferred and traders should be allowed to file their quarterly returns as they used too. |
