CJ inaugurates new complex of Judicial Academy
Government announces Rs one cr. for SJA Srinagar

JAMMU, March 29
Chief Justice BA Khan of J&K High Court today inaugurated new complex of the State Judicial Academy (SJA) in a simple and graceful function at Janipur Jammu.
At the occasion, Chief Justice BA Khan emphasized the importance of continued judicial training to meet new challenges confronting the judiciary to emerge in the days to come. CJ Khan reminded the judges, judicial officers and other constituents of the judicial fraternity that they have to come out of “KNOW ALL” mind set and be opened to new trends and innovations so that justice was made efficient, delay free and affordable to the common man.
Justice OP Sharma former judge of the state High Court and founder Chairman of the State Judicial Academy, while welcoming the Chief Justice and other dignitaries present on the occasion expressed gratitude to the Chief Justice for his unrelenting and serious efforts to make a long cherished dream come true and set-up an independent complex for the Judicial Academy likely to be equipped with ICT tools and modern technology in near future.
Registrar General, Hasnain Masoodi in his vote of thanks, expressed hope that the academy would acquire a place of eminence and seat of learning with guidance of the Judges in future days and benefit judicial officers and other constituent of judicial fraternity in the administration of justice. He said J&K High Court was the first High Court in the country to set-up a judicial officer’s training institutes which later assumed the stature of a full-fledged judicial academy.
Commissioner/ Secretary Law AH Kochak, who was present on the occasion, announced that creation of necessary staff for the judicial academy was in the pipeline and orders in this behalf would be issued within a few days and announced release of Rs 1 crore for the proposed State Judicial Academy Complex at Srinagar.
Among others present on the occasion were Justice BL Bhat (retd), M/S JS Kotwal, UK Jalali, SA Salaria, AV Gupta Senior Advocates, M/S SC Gupta, Seema Shekhar, AH Qazi Additional Advocate Generals, Registrar Vigilance Tariq Naqashbandi, Principal Secretary to CJ Jawid Kawoosa, Registrar Judicial Jammu DK Kapoor, Registrar Rules Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal, Deputy Registrar Judicial Vinod Chaterjee, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu JR Kotwal and Judicial Officers.
