| PK for review of peace process with Pak | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 27: Expressing grave concern over narcotics smuggling by Pakistan inside the state and recent seizure of huge quantity of narcotics from a truck coming from across the LOC, Panun Kashmir (PK) today demanded review of cross- LOC trade. The Government of India should review its cross LOC trade in view of the seizure of narcotics by Indian sleuths recently, said Dr. Ajay Chrungoo, President Panun Kashmir while talking to reporters here today. He said there is total involvement of Pakistan authorities in narcotic smuggling inside J&K and arrest of scores of Indian drivers is an indication in this regard. Terming cross-LOC trade inimical to Indian interests Ajay Chrungoo said that this will lead to intensification of terror activities in J&K. Dr Chrungoo also warned the impending dangers in J&K after the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan this year. He said Government claims have proved totally hollow that separatist elements will be isolated in Kashmir after the start of political process in the trouble- torn state and for last 10 years it has been witnessed that the Islamic radicalization has been on increase in valley. Dr Ajay said the policy of Govt of India on J&K has by and large undermined all popular resistance against fundamentalism, terrorism and separatism. It has converted the entire pro-India people's constituency in the state as expendable. It has registered the pro-Indian opinion in the state as a problem area rather than a national asset, he added. Dr Chrungoo said the entire security apparatus in the state is being treated with political contempt. The campaign of casting doubts and aspersions on army has attained an alarming momentum. |
