KATHUA, Jan 27: Protesting against the 'callous attitude'of the Department of School Education, hundreds of government teachers under the banner of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) held a massive protest demonstration in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park here today. The protesters were demanding immediate release of pending salaries of teachers working under SSA since September 2013 and newly appointed teachers since April 2013, issuance of orders of regularization in favour of Education volunteers converted Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers of seven years, release of 10% Dearness Allowance installments due w.e.f July 2013, release of selection grade in favour of undergraduate teachers, filling up of all vacant posts of teachers in the schools, supply of mid-day meal rice to schools besides other issues. Addressing the teachers, provisional presidents of USTA Hair Singh said that the association is compelled to hold to protest against the authorities and will take this struggle up to logical conclusion. |
