Inter-Departmental Cricket Tourney
Law School, history department enters next round

The Law School and History Department won their respective matches and entered the next round of the ongoing Inter-Departmental Cricket Tournament being played at University Cricket field here today.
In the first match played here today, Law School trounced the Environmental Science Department by 29 runs. After winning the toss, Law school scored 165 runs for the loss of two wickets in allotted 20 overs. There were 24 extras in their innings. Shashi scored a half century in just 39 balls by hitting seven boundaries. Sovit struck 28 runs in 22 balls and hit one six. Zohiab scored runs including three boundaries.
For Environment Department, Arvind clinched 4wickets by giving 29 runs in 4 overs quota while. Shekhar took 2 wickets.
While chasing the target, Environment Department was bundled out at 136 runs. Naveen was the top scorer scored 27 runs in 23 balls by hitting five boundaries. Arvind struck 25 runs in 21 balls including three boundaries. Rehaz and Zohaib shared two wickets each.
In the second match, History Department defeated Economics Department by 33 runs. After winning the toss, History Department scored 152 runs for the loss of 7wickets in allotted 16overs game. Sumit made 43runs in 30 balls by hitting five boundaries and a six. Chander struck 24runs in 30balls and hit two boundaries and a six. Ajesh and Sushil smashed 18runs each. There were 31extras. For Economics, Imran took four wickets whereas Siddique clinched one wicket.
Economics Department while chasing the target managed only 119runs for the loss of 8wickets in 16overs. Rajesh struck 46runs in 38balls by hitting 7fours. Imran piled up 27runs in 17balls by smashing two fours and a six. There were 18 runs extra. For History department, Ajesh and Sushil took two wickets each whereas Vikas clinched one wicket.
Vikrant and Naveen were umpires in the match whereas Satpal was the official scorer. The tournament was organized by Physical Education Department of Jammu University.
