| Cabinet decision on new units must be implemented on ground: Soz | | 'Will struggle for raising requisite finance' | | early times report Srinagar, Feb 2 : Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz on Sunday observed that the state Cabinet's approval to recommendations of Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC) on the creation of new administrative unit should not remain in papers and must be implemented in letter and spirit. He said his party will support Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for raising finances for the same. Talking to media, Soz appeared satisfied over the cabinet decision saying that people of all the three regions of the state have equally benefited out of the CSC recommendations approved by the government. "Now the question is about how to raise finances for these new administrative units. Let me tell you that Congress will support its coalition partner in the state in its struggle to raise the finances for manning these new units," the PCC chief assured. He said that Congress by virtue of fighting for the just and genuine demands of all the three regions has set the principle of equity and justice. "It could have not been possible that the three regions would have got equal share in the new administrative units but it was because of the Congress party that supported the endeavour and made it possible," he asserted. "The only thing is that this major decision should not remain confined to paper work only but the same should be implemented on ground," Soz opined while appreciating the Congress led CSC's painstaking exercise to address aspirations of all the three regions of the State. Soz informed that CSC was constituted by the efforts made by the Congress party and according to him that is how justice was done with all the deserving areas of State. "From day one, it was our demand that the whole exercise should be based on scientific rules besides the principles of equity and justice so that people could benefit from the governance at their doorsteps," he added. |
