| Charak inspects on going work of Bridge over Ferozpore Nallah | | | SRINAGAR, AUGUST 04 (INFO) – Minister of State for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak today visited Tangmarg area and inspected the under construction bridge over Ferozpore nallah in double shift. During the visit, the Minister was informed that four-lane bridge having 85 mtrs span was started in June 2005 at an estimated cost of Rs. 6.88 crore. The project is expected to be completed by ending of this month. The Minister asked the engineers to speed up the work so the project should be commissioned on due date. He was further apprised that the work on four lanning Narbal-Tangmarg road is in full swing, except certain technicalities impeding the progress of the work. Later, the Minister visited Magam and took stock of the work on Badran Bridge over Gowdar Nallah. The project would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.35 crore which would connect villages of the area. Mr. Charak said that a foot bridge connecting Kunzer with Chanpora village that was washed away due to floods in 2004 is being reconstructed and a project of Rs.7 crore for funding has been submitted to the J&K Economic Re-construction Agency (ERA) under Asian Development Bank. Mr. Charak appealed the people to extend their full cooperation to the government led by Chief Minister, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad for making over all socio-economic development in the State. He said the coalition government has taken up massive construction projects including roads and bridge for providing better connectivity to the people of the state. He said that road connectivity plays a vital role in the development of any area. Among others Chief Engineer R&B Mr. Nazir Ahmad Shah, Managing Director JKPCC Mr. I. A. Shah and other senior engineers accompanied the Minister. |
