| Cabinet to meet today: PDP likely to participate | | DCs, SSPs for new Districts main agenda | | Jammu, Mar 30 The state cabinet is scheduled to meet tomorrow with every possibility of participation of PDP ministers in the meeting who are staying out from the meetings since February 29 over the issue of troop’s reduction and revocation of Armed Forces Special Power Act.
Party sources told News Agency of Kashmir that following the central government decision of constituting three committees for reporting about the relocation and re-configuration of troops in civilian areas and for reviewing Armed Forces Special Power Act, the PDP leadership has asked its ministers to attend tomorrows meeting. “Chief patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has told party ministers to attend the tomorrows meeting” sources within the party told NAK. Participation PDP ministers after remaining out for three consecutive meetings.
Meanwhile, sources told that some crucial decisions including the appointment Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendent of Police would be taken in tomorrows meeting. The functioning of the newly sanctioned 8 districts is going to start from the month of April as per an earlier decision of the Government. (NAK)
Crisis within coalition ends: centre announces committees to look into PDP demand Jammu Mar 30 (NAK): In a bid to end the stand off between key alliances in Coalition, Union government today announced three committees including an apex committee to look into the demand of troop's reduction and other related issues.
As per reports reaching here the first committee to be headed by the defense secretary would report on the relocation and re-configuration of troops while the other .committee would review the powers provided under Armed forces Special powers act. The two committees would submit their recommendations to the apex committee to be headed by the Defense Minister for final decision.
The constitution of these committees for the time being have ended the crisis within the coalition surfaced after the key alliances Congress and PDP were caught in war of the words over the issue of troops reduction demand raised by the later.
The announcement according to the sources have send a wave of happiness in PDP camp who are considering it as their success, while congress sate leadership are not very happy over the union government’s decision, sources added.
