Zero Hour in Legislative Council

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 04 – As many as nine members in Legislative Council raised public importance issues during zero hour in Legislative Council today. The issues included enhancement of wages of Numberdars and Chowkidars, introducing of Persian and Commerce subjets in Higher Secondary Schools, improvement of Poonch-Jammu roads, providing of sufficient staff and laboratory facilities in government higher secondary schools in Doda district, maintaining of seniority list of council employees, enhancement of Hajj quota.
The members who raised the points included Mr. G. R. Kar, Mr. N. A. Mir, Mr. B. A. Naz, Mr. Mohammad Iqbal, Mr. Bilal Ahmad Lodhi, Mr. G. R. Mir and Mrs. Farida Mir.
Prof. Bhim Singh raised the point alleging wrong reporting by Radio Kashmir and urged for constitution of a committee to look into it while Mr. M. R. Qureshi demanded that government should talk to Bar Association Jammu to avoid problems of general people.
