| Governor greets on Mahavir Jayanti | | | Jammu, March 30
Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd) S. K. Sinha today greeted the people, especially the Jain Community, on the eve of Mahavir Jayanti.
In his message, the Governor described Lord Mahavir as an apostle of peace, who preached non-violence or to harmony among people. His great philosophy of peace, non-violence and brotherhood has great relevance when the world is faced with the challenge of terrorism and religious intolerance.
General Sinha said that Lord Mahavir stressed that the purity of feelings and thoughts is the way that leads to spiritual progress and establishment of a harmonious society. The best way to celebrate these occasions is to pledge to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and love among all mankind, he added. |
