| Deputations of Transporters met Hakim | | | Jammu, March 30 Several deputations including Western Bus Stand (WBS) Srinagar called on the Minister for Transport Hakim Mohammad Yasin here in Jammu today and apprised him about the various problems being faced by the transport industry in Kashmir valley. The deputations also putforth their difficulties in the back drop of ban on the vehicles having 25 years of age and the problems being faced by the people and the transporters. The Minister assured the deputationists for every possible help to the transporters, adding that government would consider the problems of the transporters sympathetically affected by the ban on the vehicles. He sought cooperation from all the transport agencies for providing timely and comfortable transport facilities to the people of the state adding that for the purpose the regulation of traffic system would be streamlined so that occurrence of traffic incidents are reduced. Hakim Yasin said that government is committed to implement the court directions fully so that accident free transport facilities are provided to the people. He said that government is determined to strengthen the transport industry and asked the deputationist to ensure operations of passenger services upto evening hours to facilitate the commuters especially traders and employees. |
