| Babu Singh inaugurates Fencing C’ship. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | Mar 30 Babu Singh, Minister of State for Youth Services and sports inaugurated the 7th State open Fencing Championship here at Indoor Complex M.A.Stadium today. The championship was organized by the J&K Amaturer Fencing Association. In the inaugural ceremony, Babu Singh was the chief guest and declared the championship opened whereas Ved Mahajan (MLC) and Arminder Singh Micky (MLC) were the guests of honour on the occasion. About 100 participants from the different regions of State are participating in the two days championship. The results of today’s matches are:- In under-14 (Boys) Sabretine: - The gold medal was won by Royal Fencing Club Jammu and players are Dushyant, Valentine and Javed. The silver medal was won by Ashwani, Akash, Sahil and Nahdish of Kathua District whereas the bronze medals were shared by Ramsar Fencing Club Kahua (Rakesh, Vivek and Vipan) and Jammu Fencing Club (Dileep, Bhanu, Sanjanya and Gursharan). In under-14 (Girls) Sabre individuals: - The gold medal was clinched by Reetakshi from Amba Kids Reasi and Silver medal was won by Sakshi also from Amba Kids Reasi. The bronze medals were shared by Shirya from Jammu District and Parul of Amba Kids Reasi. In under-19 (Girls) Epee Team: - The gold medal was won by the Jammu District and players were Aruna, Ankita,, Chandan and Shirya. Silver medal won by Kathua Club and team players were Manikrishka, Palak, Aradhana and Pooja. The Bronze medal went to Reasi Club having players Madhu, Chanderkanta, Shewata and Seema. In Boys (open) Epee individuals: - The gold medal was won by Bisham Singh of Royal Club whereas Silver medal clinched by Varun Slathia from Royal Club. The bronze medals were shared by Charanjeet Singh and Ramcharn of Jammu District.
