Jammu, Feb 14 : Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) activists led by their president Sunil Dimple a protest against the direction less " state budget 2014- 15" presented by the coalition regime in the state assembly, describing it utterly has failed to come up to the expectations of the people of the state. JWAM activists also burnt the copies of the state budget during the protest at New Plot and several places to register their protest. Addressing the protesters Sunil Dimple said, "Minister for Finance A R Rather presented the direction less budget which has totally ignored the dream projects of PDD, PHE, Traffic problems, flyovers and it was only the photo stat copy of the previous year's budget." He said instead of giving relief to common man the government has imposed 5% VAT on the essential commodities and eatables in the state. He also said our demand of "totally free of cost drinking water" for the people of the state, has not been included in the budget. Dimple said there are many short comings and irregularities in the budget which we will expose in the coming days. Sham Saroop Gupta, Surinder Saraf, Vinod Suri, Rajinder Sharma, Dharmvier Singh, Ashok Koul, Harbans Tondon, Dr O N Pandita and many other participated in the protest. |
