Jammu, Feb 14: After wait of nearly one year, the Congress high command ultimately announced officer bearers and executive committee members of the Pradesh Congress Committee. Announcement of new office bearers was made by AICC general secretary Janardhan Devadi today at New Delhi.
The jumbo PCC comprised of 12 vice president, 25 general secretaries, 52 executive committee members, 27 organizing secretaries and 52 secretaries. The new PCC is rightly described as "appease all" because members of all the groups are rehabilitated in the list.
Although Congress leadership has tried to rehabilitate groups of all the leaders, it is observed that formation of PCC before Lok Sabha elections are likely to intensify infighting in the Congress.
According to handout issued by the party, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, President, All India Congress Committee (AICC) has approved the list of office bearers and executive committee of Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC).
