| LeT militant killed in Doda | | | Doda, Mar 31 Security forces claimed to have eliminated a top militant of Lashker-e-toiba in a gun battle which lasted for more than two hours at village chilli in Gandoh of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, here this morning. Gandoh a highly militancy infested far flung area of Doda district is the home tehsil of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. Only recently former minister and MLC Mohammad Sharief Niaz who also belong to same area and a close relative of chief minister, had accused that security forces of have failed to break ground militants network in the area. Official source told News Agency of Kashmir that on a specific information about the presence of militants in village chilli of Gandoh, troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) cordon off the village early this morning and started house to house search operation. During the operation, troops were fired upon from a house where the militant was hiding. The troops retaliated and the militant was killed in the ensuing encounter . The slain militant has been identified as Muhammad Ali alias Abu Taryl of village Bonzva Kishtwar. One Ak-47 and a magazine besides some other material have been recovered from the possession of the encounter.
