| LA passes Bill regarding salaries of legislators | | |
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 04 – Legislative Assembly today passed the Bill enhancing the salaries and allowances of legislators, ministers and deputy ministers moved by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Muzaffar Hussain Baig in the House.
“A bill to amend the laws governing the Salaries and Allowances of Members, Presiding Officers of the State Legislature, Ministers and Deputy Ministers (L. A. Bill No. 15 of 2006)” was passed with voice vote after a brief discussion in the House.
Wrapping up the discussion on the Bill, Deputy Chief Minister also announced that the government would bring a similar Bill on pension of the former legislators in future. He also announced the honorarium of the Personal Assistants of the legislators would be increased to Rs. 3000 per month.
The Deputy Chief Minister also introduced a Bill to provide for ensuring equitable development of all regions in the state by equitable distribution of resources available for development and making good back log of the development and employment at the regional and district levels in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, L. A. Bill No. 17 of 2006. |
