| VO arrests Head Clerk accepting bribe | | |

State Vigilance Organization today caught red handed Ghulam Mehdi Pandit, Head Assistant D.C Office Budgam, while accepting a bribe of Rs.3000 for processing of a case relating to approach road to a shopping complex.
Giving details a Vigilance spokesman said one Mohammed. Ramzan Bhat S/o Ghulam Mohi-u-din R/o Gogu Humhama, lodged a written report with P/S VOK, alleging that the accused Ghulam Mehdi Pandit, Head Assistant is demanding Rs.3000 for processing of file relating to approach road to his shopping complex at Gogu Humhama.
The spokesman said that upon this complaint a case FIR No. 21/2007 was registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization, Kashmir, and investigation taken up. In the course of investigation, the officials of SVO laid a successful trap in D.C Office Budgam and caught accused Head Assistant red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs.3000 from the complainant in presence of independent witnesses. The tainted money was recovered from his possession and his hand wash tested positive. The accused was taken into custody for further investigation, the spokesman added.
