| EJAC staged dharna | | |
The central committee members of J&K Employees Joint Action Committee staged a Dharna in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office today. The Committee demanded release of 6 % D.A. from Jan 2007, enhancement of wages, regularization of temporary workers and employees posted outside home towns, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years and framing of transparent transfer policy to save the common employees from exploitation.
The committee member made a scathing attack on the state govt. for its failure to redress the grievances of state employees.
The symbolic Dharna focused the attention of state Govt. towards the employees but if the govt. did not meet their demands, EJAC will be forced to intensity its struggle.
