JAMMU | APR 2 Over two dozen National conference activists of Paddar area of Kishtwar District and from some other parties joined Congress party here today. According to press release, the activists were led by their religious and political head Lama Palla from Paddar Tehsil. The entire Buddhist population of the area expressed faith in the policies and programmes of the Congress party under the leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad and Peerzada Mohd. Sayeed. They were welcomed in the party by PCC, vice presidents S.Parduman Singh (MLC), Sheikh Ghulam Haider and Ravinder Sharma. Beside a large number of women activists were also joined by Congress as senior Congress leader of the area Sheikh Gulam Haider and block president, Paddar, Nek Ram Manhas helped them in this regard. While joining the party they said, it was during the tenure of Chief Minister Azad that Kishtwar got district status, while Padder has got Tehsil status. Those who joined Congress included Fafa Tundup, Sonam Tundup, Bopa Ram, Sonam Tsering, Tenzen Sonam, Shamboo Nath, Jami Dorjay, Ram Lal, Mrs. Tolma, Tswang Tolma, Padma Lamo, Indira Devi, Tashi Tsumo, Tsering Angmo, Chand Devi, Godi, Kasang Dolma and Tsering Cokat.
