| Forest to create separate fire fighting division | | |
In reply to a question by Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Forests Mr. Tariq Hamid Karra told the House that no huge losses to the forests have been reported from Kalidhar Range. However, he said, in June 2006 fire has broken out in the some compartment. He said in Kalidhar Range the forests are of cheer trees and in the month of June Cheer Forests are considered highly fire prone as such fire accidents take place in this month often, even by a spark created by stone, on getting rubbed with each other. He said forest department is considering to create a separate fire fighting division to check fire incidents. |
