KPs demand 'cash relief' before Shivratri

Jammu, Feb 24: The migrant leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a meeting today at Jammu in which members demanded cash relief to be paid in advance keeping in view the requirements of the Shivratri festival.
The participants demanded that government, on priority, should take all the necessary measures for making available the essential commodities like walnuts, fishes, Nandru on subsidized rates in the market and cash relief should be paid in advance keeping in view the requirements of the Shivratri festival.
The meeting further demanded that ration depots be made functional on this special day, JMC be directed to control the prices of meat and other essential commodities and on the occasion of Salam holiday should be declared on 28th Feb.
The meeting was attended by Ashok Bhat, Dr R K Pardesi, Dileep Koul, Manoj Koul, Anju Bhan, Sunil Bhat and others.
