Jammu, Feb 24: Bahu Fort Development Committee, J&K held its meeting under the chairmanship of President Kr Rajeev Charak in which members expressed strong resentment over the renaming of Bahu Fort, the Birth place of Dogras into 'Shahabad' and warned a stir against it. While speaking on the occasion Kr Rajeev Charak Said that Bahu Fort locality is the birth place of Dogras which is founded by Maharaja Bahu Lochan and the name of this locality has been felt on its founder, Maharaja Bahu Lochan whose Fort Bahu Fort still stands as an evidence of glorious past. He said that the State Government has rechristened it and named it as Shahabad which is a great shock for the people of Jammu region and a curve sore for the locals of Bahu Fort. He questioned who is a Shah? After whom the name of this locality has been rechristened? Kr Charak added that it is the ugly policy of the Kashmiri rulers who have pledged to rub the Golden History of Dogra rulers and their monuments just like they did in Kashmir. Kr. Now the state govt. has named the whole area as Shahabad this ugly policy has been created to rub and destroy the history of the Dogra rulers and Dogras. He also warned the local MLA, MLAs and ministers as well as authorities native of Jammu to break their mum and raise the issue otherwise they will be the responsible along with the ugly State Govt. Kr Charak urged Tufail Mattu, Managing Director J&K State Cable Car Corporation Ltd to correct the name and publish it as in Bahu Fort instead of in Shahabad near Bahu Fort and warned a stir if the demads is not conceded to. Hardesh Khokhar, Krishan Lal Sharma, Kuldeep Magotra, Sham Verma, Sher Singh Khokhar, Vinod Shavotra, Sohan Verma, Vinod Kumar, Bishan Dass and Others also were present in this meeting
