| Labourers hold protest against Construction Company | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Feb 24: Demanding their pending wages and security, the Uri based labourers held a massive protest demonstration against the Peer Baba Construction Company and its owner contractor Subash Chander Sharma alias Billa in front of Assistant Labourer Commissioner's office at Kathua. The protest demonstration was led by the labourer leader Raj Kumar. A large number of labourers joined the protest and alleged the contractor and owner of the Peer Baba Construction Company Subash Chander Sharma alias Billa who had looted the wages of Rs.3.32 lacs of 40 innocent labourers who came from Uri (Kashmir) to work at his 4 kilometer road project at Fattu Chack Gair in tehsil Hiranagar. While speaking to the media Raj Kumar and labourer Mustaq alleged that the contractor has not paid the wages of labourers after doing the work at the site of the contractor and they have no source of food and shelter and surviving with without having food for the last five days. And they urged the administration and state government to take strict action against the culprit contractor who has siphoned off our wages here today and urged the District Administration, Labour Department and Police to take a legal and strict action against the him and make his arrest for cheating with innocent Uri based labourers. |
