Jammu, Feb 24: Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College, Jammu, Erstwhile Prince of Wales College, has bagged "A" Grade on Re-accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Banglore, which is no mean feat. This is yet another feather to the cap of this Heritage College that stands tallest in the history of Jammu Division Colleges and as also the Nodal College. This follows the on ground assessment of the College during Nov 21-23, 2013 by the Peer Team that comprised Dr. P. Parkash, Vice Chancellor, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad, Prof. Shrawan K. Sharma, Head, Department of English, Director Center for Canadian Studies Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar and Dr. Kavita Rege, Principal, Sathaye College, Mumbai. It may be recalled that previously the college had been leveled at B++ on Assessment and Accreditation by NAAC in 2004. With up gradation in its rank to 'A' level, the college has become eligible for declaration as "College with Potential for Excellence" by UGC and looks forward in this direction. The College will be now availing the maximum financial assistance under different schemes floated by UGC following this achievement.
