Jammu, Feb24; The Jammu and Kashmir government Monday admitted that under SSA Scheme some irregularities/misappropriation of funds has been reported in Education Department and an enquiry committee has already been constituted to look into the matter. In written reply to a question of PDP legislator, Abdul Gaffar Sofi the Education minister, Tara Chand told the state legislature today that misappropriation of funds under SSA scheme has been reported in KGBV Boniyar, ZEO Office Assar Doda and ZEO Office Marwah Kishtwar. Tara Chand said an enquiry committee has already been constituted and reports of KGBV Boniyar and school building Dangerpora Baramulla have been received. The Minister said the reports of ZEO Office Assar Doda and Marwah kishtwar is awaited. Tara Chand further said the Directorate of school Education Kashmir and Jammu were requested to refer these cases to Vigilance Organization vide communication No. Edu/NC/SE/710/2013 dated 3/12/2013 and the vigilance alert note No. 01/2013 dated 22-07-2013 requested for conduct of enquiry. Minister, however, said no bungling, misappropriation of funds has been reported so for under the RMSA scheme. To another question of Sofi, the minister said to improve the enrolment in government schools steps like free supply of textbooks, uniform, MDM, Counseling with parents, enrollment drive etc. are under way. |
