JAMMU, Feb 24: Cabinet today in supersession of all previous orders and instructions on the use of red light on vehicles of dignitaries of the departments, approved authorization for the use of Red Light with flasher on the top front of the vehicle of the Governor, Chief Minister, Former Governors, Deputy Chief Minister, Chief Justice, Chairman Legislative Council, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Cabinet Ministers, Former Chief Ministers, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and Judges of High Court, while on duty anywhere in the State.
It authorized use of Red Light without Flasher on the top front of the Vehicle of the Deputy Chairman Legislative Council, Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, Minister of State, Chief Secretary, Advocate General, Deputy Minister, Chairman, Public Service Commission and Director General of Police J&K while on duty anywhere in the State.
It also authorized use of Blue Light with Flasher/Bar on top of the Vehicle of the Emergency Services like Ambulances and Vaccine Carrier Vehicles, Fire & Emergency Services Vehicles and Disaster Management Vehicles besides use of White Light without Flasher on top of the Vehicle while on duty of Civic Bodies Carrier Vehicles including Fumigation Vans and multi-coloured light/bar on top of the Vehicles on Law & Order Duty, Checking Squads of Motor Vehicle Department & Traffic Police and PCR Vehicles & VIP escort Vehicles.
