JAMMU, Feb 24: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu who is also the Chairman of District Red Cross Society (DRCS), Jammu today inaugurated three days workshop on extension of Red Cross / CHILDLINE activities for Ambassadors (students) & counsellors ( Teachers ) of educational institutions. The workshop was organized by Indian Red Cross Society, District Branch Jammu with an objective to make Counsellors & Ambassadors aware about First Aid, use of Fire extinguishers, Water sanitation, hygiene, Right to vote, Human values, Service to Humanity and above all What Red Cross is and its functioning so as to make other people aware of these activities for alleviation of human sufferings. Suresh Sharma Executive Secretary, DRCS, Jammu welcomed the Chief Guest, distinguished guests and the participants from different educational institutions. Speaking on the occasion, Ajeet Kumar Sahu briefed the participants about Red Cross and Civil Defence, about its humanitarian endeavours, Right to vote, Water sanitation, hygiene and asked the gathering to do their little bit of humanitarian services. Mr. Rohit Khajuria- City Co-Coordinator Childline Jammu awared the gathering about Childline Jammu. The function was attended by Mrs. Roma Wani- General Secretary, IRCS, State Branch, R.C.
